ID cards for Immigrants in Little Rock

City Manager Bruce Moore shared Little Rock Arkansas’ plans to issue ID cards for undocumented immigrants. The Municipal Identification Card Program and ID cards would be beneficial in safety and emergency situations while providing access to social and economic aspects of daily life. The idea is both liked and disliked by Little Rock residents and businesses. Little Rock Police Department would use it to ID people in emergency situations. Moore said that he understood the concerns and that the card is just a way to say I’m a resident. The Municipal Identification Card Program is not concerned with the federal issue of being an undocumented immigrant. The ID card will provide the individual’s name, address, date of birth, eye color, height, picture, and signature, but is not a driver’s license or immigration papers.
